Woven for the World Expo – Kawashima Selkon Textiles and the Expo: A Rich and Enduring Connection
We supplied a wide range of fabrics and flooring materials to more than 20 venues and pavilions at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. We have launched a special website titled “Woven for the World Expo – Kawashima Selkon Textiles and the Expo: A Rich and Enduring Connection.”

A Legacy of Weaving Beauty — Since the 1889 Paris Expo
The story of Kawashima Selkon Textiles began at the 1889 Exposition Universelle in Paris. From that moment, our journey has been one of constant challenge and refinement—pushing the boundaries of textile expression.
Since our founding, we have been dedicated to the art of weaving, pursuing what we call “memorable weaving and beauty.” World Expositions have been a stage for this pursuit. Following our debut in Paris, we continued to showcase new textile innovations at expos in Chicago, St. Louis, Liège, and beyond—constantly honing our craft and expanding the potential of woven design.
Now, at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan we carry that spirit forward. Our fabrics and flooring materials will grace a variety of spaces, from the State Guest House to the EXPO Hall and international pavilions—each a canvas for the finest expression of our weaving heritage.
We invite you to experience the beauty born from the harmony of tradition and innovation, woven into every detail of the spaces we help create.
