Jimbei Kawashima I opens a modest but comprehensive fabrics store (shop name: Uedaya)

Jimbei Kawashima II visits Europe to study fabrics together with Yajiro Shinagawa, special envoy to Germany.

Produces interior decoration fabrics for the Meiji Palace and becomes the first company in Japan to launch an interior decoration and curtain business.

A fabric showroom under the name of "Museum of Art Specimens" opens in Sanjo Takakura, Kyoto, nation's first company museum, industry's first showroom.

Exhibits a hand-woven tapestry at the Paris International Exposition and is awarded the gold prize. Since then, it begins to exhibit and receive many awards at various international expositions held in Chicago, Saint Louis and Liège.

Produces the hand-woven brocade tapestry “Banshunshoka-hyakkahyakucho” (means all the flowers and birds in the late spring and early summer) for the Hague Peace Palace in Holland.

Cyukichi Kondo opens specialty lace shop C. Kondo & Co. in Kanocho,Kobe.

Relocates head office to Shizuichi, Sakyo-ku, Kyoto, and constructs a new headquarters plant.

Kawashima Textile School opens.

Exhibited at the Heimtextil International Trade Fair (Frankfurt)

The Il Mare interior is permanently housed in the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum of Smithsonian Institution in the USA.

Kawashima Textile Manufacturers Ltd., Selkon Co., Ltd. and Kawashima Sales Ltd. merge to form Kawashima Selkon Textiles Company Limited.

Becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of JS Group Corporation ( current LIXIL Corporation ).

Delivers three stage curtains for The 5th Kabukiza Theatre and two for Festival Hall.

First exhibits at Milan Design Week.

Became independent through a management buyout (MBO) from LIXIL Corporation.

Sponsored a tapestry for the Guest House and supplied fabrics and flooring to numerous facilities at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
